Offering in this listing the rare find of an original YAMAHA XT500 exhaust muffler complete with heat shields as shown. The muffler is pretty much ready to be mounted your bike out of the box. Rarely found listed anymore, especially in this condition. There are a few very minor blemishes in form of small dents evident, please study the numerous pictures.

The heat shield were also bead blasted and powder coated in a semi gloss thereafter. This muffler was used on all XT500s from 1977 to 1988, up 1981 only in the US, original part number of body is 1T2-14701-31- heat shields are # 1T2-14701-31-00 and 1T1-14718-00-00. A sound and sturdy muffler body was completely cleaned by media-blasting, powder coated with a special heat resistance black coating that still needs to be fully cured operating temperature once you put it use. They are mounted with the correct screws and washers to assure a good fit look.
